February 19 and February 20 MC Algorithm Results from Oaklawn Park

Well, the first week of using the Monte Carlo method to pick winners at Oaklawn Park is in the books. Overall, it was not a bad week, but I intend to keep tracking the progress until the end of the Winter Meet. Keep in mind that I am not actually putting money on these horses. I am simply asking a "what if" I selected these horses using this computer simulation.

Let me give an example, "What if I purchased a $1.00 Exacta box on the 3 picks produced by the program for the week?" There were 38 races so my investment in such a strategy would be 38 x $6.00 = $228.00. This doesn't account for the savings on scratched horses, so the investment is actually $10-$20 less. The strategy would have hit these exacta results:

• Feb 17 (Race 6): 6/2 Exacta - $14.10
• Feb 17 (Race 7): 2/5 Exacta - $132.70
• Feb 18 (Race 9): 2/8 Exacta - $29.20
• Feb 19 (Race 7): 12/7 Exacta - $23.50
• Feb 20 (Race 2): 2/10 Exacta - $227.80

The total return is $427.30 for a profit of more than $199.30. Someone that used these picks to do that should consider using the PayPal tip jar found in the left banner at the top of the blog.
